This was a quilt I started last year during a quilt along hosted by the pattern designer, Camille. However, I struggled to keep up with and the quilt along and once it was all over my project got put on the backburner.
For my version I used prints from the Blush and Bloom collection by Iza Pearl Design for Windham Fabrics. I just love the large scale floral designs and think these big blocks show them off really well. There's also 18 prints in the collection, making it perfect for a swoon quilt.
I'm also pretty pleased with the quilting - I quilted it myself on my domestic machine. While it seemed to take forever, love the texture of the finished quilt.

Your quilting is beautiful - congrats for doing that on a domestic machine! Thanks for linking up with Elm Street Quilts One Monthly Goal and congrats on your finish.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! You have used such pretty fabrics and your quilting is lovely.
ReplyDeleteLove this pattern! This is a lovely version. Your leafy quilting is really nice too!
ReplyDeleteI also started my Swoon quilt as part of a quilt along (kmmm several years ago)... it is deceptively hard to keep up with the schedules, even though it is a large block and you don't need to make a million of them. I also absolutely love the pattern, and the way it highlights those large prints! I'm sure you are stoked with how your quilt turned out - well worth the hard work!
ReplyDeleteSnap!! I finished my Swoon this week, form the same quilt-a-long :-)I love your version. So light and bright. And the floral prints are just lovely. I can't believe you did that quilting on a domestic machine though!!!!! It's incredible!!! Very jealous ;-)

This is such a pretty Swoon. Love your backing, and good on you for not letting the size keep you from quilting it at your domestic! It looks fantastic.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful finish! The fabrics are shown very well with the pattern. Congrats on a fantastic finish!
