Scrap the Boys January challenge

Hello!

Today I'm sharing a layout I made for this month's Scrap the Boys challenge. The challenge for January is a nice easy one - create a layout using numbers:

Boys and numbers together make me think of racing cars so I've scrapped a couple of photos of my boys go-karting on our holiday last year. It was a real thrill for the little man, who is slightly obsessed with the Cars movies (in the photos he is wearing race car socks and a Cars movie t-shirt).

I've used numbers in a couple of different ways - firstly I used the Numbers Fest cut file (by Juliana Michaels of 17 Turtles) to make a subtle textured background and added some stamped numbers using black ink and a Kaisercraft stamp. I also added a fabric covered badge featuring numbers that my son picked up at a fabric store a few weeks ago.

I've used numbers in my journalling too - calling them my 'number 1' race team and mentioning that they only crashed once :) I embellished with some cute stickers from the Crate Paper Cool Kid collections, including a racecar sticker featuring the number 1.

Here's my finished layout:

Over the past couple of months I haven't had time to play along with scrappy challenges so it's really nice to get back into it. Hopefully this will be the first of many for this month.
